Curaca

The Curaca was the chief political and administrative Andean ayllu. After the Conquest became known as Caciques.

Curaca or curaca quechua is a voice that means the first or the largest among all of its grouping. Originally due to be the eldest and wiser, and so paternalistic rule, but his authority as the inherited one of her children reflected that special ability, it is obvious that the criterion of age was not always followed.
